Winnetka Blotter: MacBook, Purse Stolen from Vehicle, Cannabis Activity

From burglary to graffiti found in Winnetka, these are the latest police reports from the past week.

MacBook, Purse Stolen From Vehicle

An Apple MacBook pro laptop computer and a purse containing credit cards and identification were reported stolen from a vehicle park in the 500 block of Hibbard Road between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Sept. 11. The offender gained entry by force. The loss is estimated at $1,400. 

Unlocked Women’s Bike Stolen

An unlocked women’s 18-speed bike valued at $300 was reported stolen from the 1000 block of Gage Street between 8 a.m. on Sept. 14 and 5 p.m. on Sept. 15. 

Cannabis Activity

A 17-year-old boy from New Trier Township was cited for possession of cannabis and use of a handheld cell phone following a stop at Hill Road and Ridge Avenue on Sept. 14.  He was issued a Oct. 17 court date. 

Jason W. Chung, 25, of 1767 W. Cullom Ave., Chicago and Bibiano E. Carreon, 23, of 3843 Belmont St., Chicago, were cited for possession of cannabis on Sept. 17 following a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Elm Street. Carreon was also cited for no rear registration plate light. They were issued Oct. 25 court dates. 

Identity Theft

A resident in the 1400 block of Edgewood Lane reported that someone used the resident’s name and social security number to file a tax return during the beginning of 2012. The amount of loss is unknown at this time. 

Graffiti Found in Winnetka

Winnetka police discovered pink spray paint on the sidewalk near Apple Tree Road and Lindenwood Drive on Sept. 16. The repair cost was estimated at $100. 

Driving Violations

Tammy Taesook Kim, 44, of 1710 Northfield Square, Northfield, was arrested Sept. 13 for driving with a suspended driver’s license following a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Elm Street. Kim was also cited for unlawful use of a handheld cell phone in a school zone and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle. She was issued a Oct. 25 court date.
