Criminal defacement

A Rubix cube was spray painted on an electric utility box at the intersection of Prospect and Humboldt Avenues.

Identity theft

Two 2010 tax returns were fraudulently filed using the name and Social Security number of a resident of the 700 block of Foxdale Avenue.

Someone attempted to fraudulently open a checking account using the name of a resident of the 100 block of Indian Hill Road.

Residential burglary

Jewelry was removed from a home in the 400 block of Sunset Road between May 6 and 8.

Drug possession

Christopher K. Athing, 19, of Atlantique, New York was cited for possession of marijuana at 11:57 p.m. May 23 in the 400 block of Hawthorn Lane. His court date is June 12.

A 16-year-old from the New Trier Township area was cited for marijuana possession at 1:15 p.m. May 25 at New Trier Township High School. His court date is June 12.

Criminal damage to property

Justin R. Hundley, 19, of Winnetka was arrested for criminal damage to property and reckless driving after driving into multiple trash cans at 2:22 a.m. in the 600 block of Hill Road. His court date is June 28.

A perimeter fence was damaged around 2 a.m. May 25 at a home in the 500 block of Meadow Road.

Traffic arrest

Jairo Sarrazola, 25, of Chicago was arrested for driving on a suspended drivers’ license after a traffic stop at 1:23 a.m. May 27 in the 1300 block of Willow Road. He was also cited for improper display of license plate sticker. His court date is June 28.

Theft

A $500 Rock Hopper mountain bike was stolen from an open garage in the 800 block of Ash Street at 11:53 p.m. May 27.
