Winnetka Blotter: Aggravated Assault, Bike Theft, Men on School Roof

Aggravated assault

Michael James Davidson, 23, of 1214 Cherry St., Winnetka, was arrested July 22 for aggravated assault following a report of disturbance taking place. He was also charged with resisting a peace officer. Davidson was issued a Sept. 11 court date.

Bike theft

An unlocked 21-speed mountain bike valued at $360 was stolen from a bike rack in the 300 block of Winnetka Avenue on July 23.

A mountain bike valued at $100 was stolen from a bike rack in the 1000 block of Gage Street on July 23. 

A 21-speed men’s mountain bike valued at $200 was stolen from 500 block of Glendale Avenue between July 25 and 27. 

DUI

Darryl Jacobs, 47, of 514 Jordan Way, Northbrook, was arrested July 29 for driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop at the intersection of Scott Avenue and Sheridan Road. He was also cited for illegal transportation of alcohol and driving without headlights when required. He was issued an Aug. 16 court date.

Christopher C. Kelly, 26 of 1023 Oakley Ave., Deerfield, was arrested July 29 for driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop in the 700 block of Green Bay Road. Kelly was also cited for unsafe tire and improper lane usage. He was issued a Sept. 4 court date. 

Jason P. Waldron, 43, of 6601 Talman Ave., Chicago was arrested July 29 for driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop in the 700 block of Sheridan Road. He was also cited for squealing and screeching his tires. He was issued an Aug. 16 court date. 

Men on school roof

A Hubbard Woods Elementary School employee reported seeing five men on the school roof. The men fled before Winnetka police arrived. An unsecured roof hatch was discovered and it’s unknown if anything was taken at this time.

Black graffiti

A Winnetka officer discovered several areas and a sign in the 100 block of Northwestern Drive were damaged with black graffiti on July 23. It’s unknown how much repairs will cost. 

Identity Theft

A resident in the 200 block of Linden Street reported that unauthorized charges were made on her credit card between July 26 and 27. The estimated damage is unknown at this time. 

Traffic Arrest

Karen M Burhans, 48, of 1411 Sycamore Ln., Northbrook, was arrested July 28 for driving with a suspended driver’s license and cited for speeding following a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Willow Road. She was issued a Sept. 11 court date.
