Winnetka Blotter: 2 Bike Thefts, BB Gun Vandalism
Police incidents that occurred in Winnetka from Oct. 11-16.
The following items are taken from Winnetka Police Department reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Oct. 16
Traffic Arrest: A 26-year-old man was arrested Saturday morning after failing to yield at a stop sign near Elm Street and Rosewood Avenue. According to police, he did not have a valid driver's license and had no proof of insurance. The man was released on bail and has a court date of Nov. 19.

Oct. 13
Minor Injury: A vehicle struck a 25-year-old bicyclist near the intersection of Winnetka Avenue and Wilson Street on Wednesday evening. The man sustained a minor foot injury and was driven to a local hospital by a relative.

Oct. 12
Bike Theft: A Giant brand bike, valued at $650, was reported stolen while unsecured for about two hours in Franklin Dunbaugh Park off Hubbard Place.
Oct. 11
Bike Theft: After leaving a bike unsecured for about 35 minutes on the side of the McDonald's building near the 800 block of Green Bay Road, the owner returned to find it missing. The red bike is valued at $350.
Oct. 1
Streetlight Vandalized
Criminal Damage: Police determined an overhead streetlight near Cherry and Locust streets was vandalized by BB shots between Oct. 1-6. No suspects have been identified.
