Theft at Toy Store, Two DUIs, Broken Windows: Winnetka Blotter

May 2

Criminal Damage: A police officer found graffiti on the east-facing wall of the bridge by Winnetka Avenue and Wilson Street at 1:58 a.m. The repair costs are $50, and the Public Works Department was notified for clean-up.

Theft: A person reported that someone removed a "4209 Fire Plane" Lego box set from the store at 807 Elm St., where the Village Toy Shop is located, on May 1 between 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. The estimated loss is $60.

May 3

DUI: A 24-year-old male from Lake Villa was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol at 3:21 a.m. within the 800 block of Pine Tree Lane. also cited him for improper lane usage, failure to dim head lights and for not having a driver's license on his person. His court date is June 12.

Criminal Damage: A person reported that someone broke five windows with an unknown object between 6 p.m. and 6:05 p.m. in the 800 block of Glen Oak Drive. The estimated loss is $1,200.

Theft: A 62-year-old man from Worth was charged with theft at 7:27 a.m. in Worth, Ill. The charge came after police investigated an April 23 theft. His court date was May 8.

May 6

DUI: A 18-year-old male from Winnetka was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol at 1:08 a.m. at the corner of Hibbard and Willow roads. Police also cited him for improper lane usage and having only one illuminated tail light. His court date is May 25.
