Three Thefts, Graffiti, Traffic Charge: Winnetka Police Blotter

May 14

Graffiti: A officer reported that sometime between March 27 and May 14, someone painted on the west-facing wall and south-facing pillar of a building at 511 Lincoln Ave. with black and white paint. The repair cost is $200.

Theft: A person in the 900 block of Green Bay Road reported to police that between April 14 and May 10, someone removed business checks from a desk and cashed them, making for a loss of $8,200.

May 16

Theft: A person reported to police that between 3:20 p.m. and 4:45 p.m., someone took a Texas Instrument Nspire CAS calculator from his backpack at 385 Winnetka Ave., where New Trier High School is located. The backpack had been left unattended in an unlocked gym locker in the boy's locker room. The loss is $150.

Theft: A person reported to police that between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on May 15, someone removed her black Apple iPhone 4 in the 800 block of Elm Street. The phone was later found and returned to the owner.

May 17

Invalid Driver's License: An 18-year-old Evanston resident was charged with driving without a valid driver's license in the 200 block of Green Bay Road at 1:01 a.m. Police also cited the individual with driving without lights when required. The court date is set for June 28.
