Theft at New Trier, Driving Under the Influence

Theft

A victim reported that an unknown offender(s) removed an unattended black iPhone 4S from an unsecured locker in the girl's locker room at the New Trier High School Winnetka campus, according to Winnetka Police reports. The incident occurred on Feb. 14. The amount of loss was reported at $100.

Matthew D. Hurst, 19, of Skokie was cited for possession of cannabis, according to the Winnetka Police Department. The incident occurred on Feb. 20 at the intersection of Sheridan Rd. and Maple St. His court date is set for March 7. 

Identity Theft

A victim reported that he discovered on Feb. 20 that an unknown offender(s) had opened a Verizon Wireless account using his personal identifiers, according to Winnetka Police reports. No loss is reported. 

Identity Theft

A victim reported that he discovered on Feb. 21 that an unknown offender(s) had fraudulently used his Citibank credit card and attempted to make an unauthorized purchase, according to Winnetka Police reports. The transaction was denied, and no loss was reported. 

Traffic Arrest

Catalina Viveros-Hernandez, 46, of Chicago was arrested for driving without a valid driver's license, according to Winnetka Police reports. She was also cited for using a handheld cell phone and for having no proof of insurance. The incident occurred on Feb. 22 at the intersection of Green Bay Rd. and Oak St., and her court date is set for March 7. 

Driving Under the Influence

James A. Collins, 65, of Chicago is being charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, having an expired registration and driving with driver's license not on person, according to Winnetka Police reports. His court date is set for April 2.
