Stolen Cab Fares, Drug Possession And Drunk Driving

From traffic arrest to reports of harassing call and text messages, here are the latest reports from Winnetka Police Department.

Theft

A cab driver reported that he transported three men from Chicago to Winnetka just after 4 a.m. on Nov. 22, and they didn't pay the $65 fare. He dropped the first two off together before letting the third out at Tower Road and Vernon Avenue. The man ran off without paying for the ride.

Another cab driver lost his fare when he transported two men from Evanston to Winnetka around 4:30 a.m. on Nov. 23. The last stop was in the 1000 block of Hill Road, where the second man fled from the vehicle without paying the $25 charge.

A resident of the 300 block of Ridge Avenue made an online purchase of $292.98 on Nov. 14 and discovered on Nov. 24 that the seller never shipped the item.

Drug Possession

Thomas D. Clabby, 18, of 614 Forest Ave. in Wilmette, was given a citation for being in possession of cannabis in Corwin Park on Nov. 23 around 10:30 p.m. Two other 17-year-old boys from New Trier, were also cited. Their court dates are all on Jan. 4.

Another 17-year-old boy, this time from Northbrook, was cited for possessing marijuana at Tower Beach (899 Sheridan Rd.) on Nov. 23 just after 11 p.m. His court date is Dec. 18.

Criminal Damage

The owner of a vehicle parked in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue discovered that someone had dented the hood of her car by walking on top of it overnight between Nov. 21 and 22. The damage was estimated at $310.

Traffic Arrest

Daniel W. Pritz, 23, of 2811 Harrison St. in Evanston, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol on Nov. 22. He was also cited for speeding through the 1000 block of Chatfield Road. His court date is Dec. 26.

Jeremias Xolo, 26, of 1064 Gage St. in Winnetka, was stopped in the 1200 block of Tower Road for improper lane usage. He was arrested when police said they discovered that he was driving without a valid license. His court date is Dec. 18.
