Rolex, Tag Heuer Watches, Used Fire Hydrants Lifted

From a Prospect Heights man arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle to a identity theft with an estimated $3,000 worth of loss, here are the latest police reports from Winnetka Police Department.

Unlawful Possession of a Stolen Vehicle

Daniel B. Vences, 21, of 810 Old Willow Rd., Prospect Heights, was arrested Oct. 25 for unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle following a report of a person seen at the beach spray painting graffiti on the breaker wall at 799 Sheridan Road, police said. Vences was also charged with criminal defacement to state supported property, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued a Nov. 2 court date. 

Tag Heuer, Rolex Stolen

A resident in the 900 block of Forest Glen Drive discovered someone had removed a silver and gold Tag Heuer men’s watch and a Rolex men’s watch from the home between Oct. 7 and 19, police said. The loss was estimated at $8,000. 

Burglary

An iPod Nano was stolen from the master bedroom of a home in the 600 block of Green Bay road, police said. The victim discovered someone entered the home via force between 1:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Oct. 26. The loss was estimated at $150. 

Used Fire Hydrants Lifted

Two used yellow fire hydrants were reported stolen from a construction lot in the 500 block of Hibbard Road between Oct 19 and 22, according to police. The loss is estimated at $1,800. 

DUI

Franklin Scott McNair, 28, of 893 Willow Rd., Winnetka, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop near Willow and Hibbard roads, according to police. He was also cited for speeding. McNair was issued a Nov. 30 court date. 

Identity Theft

A resident in the 900 block of Spruce Street discovered pm Sept. 10 that someone used his personal information and opened up a line of credit without his authorization. The loss was estimated at $2,993.86, according to the police report. 

Fraud

A resident in the 1400 block of Tower Road reported that someone phoned him requesting money to cover administration fees on the winnings he was going to receive from their firm on Oct. 23, police said. The resident did not comply and no loss was reported.
