The Cook County Recorder of Deeds has recently implemented a Property Fraud Alert System that can shield your property against fraud.  

According to the Cook County Recorder of Deeds office, property and recording fraud is one of the fastest growing white collar crimes. Offenders often target homes that are mortgage-free or those owned by an elderly person who may have no heirs and file forged ownership documents with a County Recorder.
