Police: Man Arrested in Connection to Bike Thefts
The following arrest information was supplied by the Winnetka Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Traffic Arrest
Carly Johnson, 36, of Highland Park is being charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and illegal transportation of alcohol, police reports state. Johnson was stopped on the 800 block of Sheridan Rd. on Sept. 3.
Deceptive Practice
Leyla Durmis, 42, of Wheeling is being charged with deceptive practice, police reports state. The arrest was made subsequent to an investigation for an incident that happened on Aug. 12.
Identity Theft
A victim on the 400 block of Sunset Rd. reported that between Sept. 3 and Sept. 4, an unknown person(s) made an online purchase for $2300 in their name and opened two credit card accounts without authorization. The purchase was cancelled by the creditor. There's no reported loss at this time.
Theft
Alejandro Barajas, 20, of Chicago is being charged with theft, police reports state. The arrest was made subsequent to an investigation of two reports of bike theft from the train station that occurred on Sept. 5.
Criminal Trespass
A victim on the 700 block of Walden Rd. reported that on Sept. 6, an unknown offender(s) entered the unlocked home and turned on the water in one of the bathrooms, and turned on the patio lights, reports state. An investigation is in process.
