Police Charge Glencoe Man with Reckless Homicide

John S. Warsaw, 63, turned himself into authorities on Wednesday.

A Glencoe resident is currently held in a Lake County jail due to charges of "reckless homicide and two counts of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol causing death and great bodily harm," according to the Lincolnshire Police Department.

The Daily Herald reports that John S. Warsaw, 63, of the 1100 block of Carol Lane opted to stay in jail rather than pay the $500,000 bond required.

On Jan. 13, Warsaw drove a Honda CRV the wrong way on Route 21 in Lincolnshire and hit a Toyota Corolla, according to the Daily Herald. The woman in the passenger seat of the Corolla, Shruti Phandis, 26, of Wheeling died a few days later from injuries.
