Northfield Police Blotter: Theft and Vandalism

The following arrest information was supplied by the Northfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

March 22

Theft: According to , 47-year-old Northfield woman entered Dominick's, 1822 Willow Rd., under the influence of alcohol and tried to purchase food and wine. Employees refused to sell her the wine, but after paying for the food, she took the bottle with her anyway. Police stopped her outside with the items. She blew a .35 on a breathalyzer and was transported to Glenbrook Hospital. The wine was returned to Dominick's, and the management chose not to press charges.

Theft: A man from Lake Bluff left his car for service at Fields Chrysler Jeep Dodge, 670 W. Frontage Rd. He reported that a small black wallet had been removed. There were no credit cards or money inside, just insurance cards and identification. The estimated value was $30.

March 23

Criminal damage: The residents of a home in the 200 block of Graemere discovered graffiti sprayed on their windows. They had cleaners remove it, but when they checked again later, they discovered the word "epitaph"  scrawled in brown paint on the house's siding. No dollar amount was available, as they are trying to determine whether they are going to try to clean or replace the siding.

Vandalism: An employee of Northfield Plumbing, 1749 Harding Rd., left work on March 22 and came back the next morning to find the company's white Ford truck had been tagged on all sides with letters in orange, teal and silver spray paint. No estimate was available.
