Police received a call about a disturbance on Country Lane around 1:45 a.m. on Aug. 21. When they arrived, they found damaged damaged mailboxes in the vicinity, and they eventually happened upon two 18-year-old men from Wilmette walking on Sunset Ridge Road. Both were under the influence. The police gave them local ordinance tickets and a court date of Setp. 28. They're still investigating whether there was any connection between the men and the damaged mailboxes.

Police stopped a 35-year-old man from Crete, Ill., for driving 55 mph in a 35-mph zone just before 2:14 a.m. on Aug. 15 in the 1800 block of Willow Road. When they approached the car, they smelled an odor of alcohol and determined that the man was intoxicated. He was released on a $1,500 i-bond, and his court date is Sept. 27.

No driver's license

A 22-year-old Chicago man was driving 51 mph in a 35-mph zone when he was stopped at Willow and Waukegan roads. Police discovered that he had never been issued a driver's license. They released him after he paid a $1,500 i-bond. His court date is Sept. 27.
