Northfield Police Blotter: Drugs and Fraud

A summary of Northfield mischief from Oct. 11 to Oct. 17.

The Northfield Police Department provided the following reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Please e-mail the editor with any questions or to provide proof of expungement.

Fraud: An unknown caller ordered a car radio and other parts from Fields Jeep and Chrysler (670 W. Frontage Rd.) on two separate days in June. The total, which was charged to a fraudulent credit card, came to $3,271.

Speeding: Police cited a 25-year-old Chicago man around 4 a.m. for driving 96 mph in a 55-mph zone at I-94 and Winnetka Avenue. Police also said his license was suspended. He was given an Oct. 28 court date.

Speeding: Officers busted a 17-year-old Northbrook boy around 11:30 p.m. for allegedly doing 87 mph in the same zone. He's set to appear in court on Oct. 28.

Oct. 12

Drug possession: Police pulled over a 25-year-old Northbrook man for allegedly speeding at I-94 and Winnetka Avenue (87 mph in a 55-mph zone) and said they found marijuana and equipment with which to smoke it. He was given an Oct. 28th court date.

Oct. 15

Theft: A woman put a cell phone in her purse at the back of the store (1825 Willow Rd.) and left the store without paying. She and a male driver left in a blue Ford Taurus.
