Northfield Police Blotter: Drugs and DUI

LAST WEEK:
Jan. 3
Possession of drugs: A 30-year-old Evanston man was arrested just before 12:30 p.m. when he drove the illegal way down a one-way alley near the intersection of Happ and Willow roads. During the traffic stop, the officer noticed a plastic bag of cannabis in the back seat. The man was cited for possession of marijuana and disobeying a traffic control device.

Jan. 7
DUI: A police officer saw a 23-year-old Northfield woman turn left on a red traffic signal around 3:45 a.m. The officer stopped and arrested her, and while they were at the police station, the officer smelled cannabis on her. He then searched her purse and found the drug. She was cited for possession of marijuana and disobeying a traffic control device. She was released on a $1,000 recognizance bond and given a court date on Feb. 21.
