Northfield Police Blotter: Disobedient Drivers
A summary of events from during the first week of October.
The Northfield Police Department provided the following reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Please e-mail the editor with any questions or to provide proof of expungement.

No driver's license: Around 4:30 a.m., police said a car blew past the stop sign at the end of the I-95 exit ramp in the 1700 block of Willow Road. As it headed east, it did a fast U-turn at Willow Road and Lockwood Avenue. Going the other direction, it again executed a U-turn at a high rate of speed at Willow Road and Walnut Street. When police stopped the car, they found two 15-year-old Glenview boys inside. The driver was issued several citations: disobeying a stop sign, performing an illegal U-turn, screeching his tires, performing another illegal U-turn, violating the curfew and not having a valid driver's license. Both were released to their parents on an i-bond.

Suspended driver's license: Police arrested a 25-year-old Chicago woman for driving with a suspended license, expired registration and no insurance. They also found that she had outstanding warrants in both Champagne County and Oak Park. She was required to pay 10 percent of a $5,200 bond, 10 percent of a $10,000 bond and 10 percent of a $1,500 bond before being released. Her court date is Nov. 9.
Suspended driver's license: A 61-year-old Winnetka man was arrested when police ran his plates and saw that he was driving while suspended. He was issued a $1,500 i-bond and a court date of Oct. 28.
Oct. 3
Suspended driver's license: The same 61-year-old Winnetka man was observed driving again near Willow Road and Lagoon Drive. No felony charges were pressed, but this time he was forced to pay 10 percent of another $1,500 i-bond.
Oct. 4
No driver's license: A 35-year-old Chicago man was stopped after he allegedly crossed the double yellow line several times in the 700 block of West Frontage Road. Police found he had never been issued a valid license. He was given a $1,500 i-bond and a Nov. 9 court date.
