Northfield Police Blotter: Cited for Obstruction; 2 Drivers Fined

Here is a summary of events reported between July 18 and 26.

The Northfield Police Department provided the following reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Please email the editor with any questions or to provide proof of expungement.

The Northfield Police Department fielded a total of 168 calls during the reporting period, many of which were hazard reports from the storm. 

July 19

Obstruction of justice: Police stopped a 37-year-old Winnetka woman in a gold SUV at 8:19 a.m. for violating the no-left-turn signs near Starbucks on Willow Road. After she drove away from the officer, the driver was again pulled over and cited for knowingly obstructing a peace officer, which is a misdemeanor. She was given a $1,500 bond, and has a court date of Sept. 1

July 21

Criminal damage to property: An employee reported that a pop-up tent was damaged at High Five sports camp at 7:42 a.m. in the 500 block of Sunset Ridge Road.

July 25

No driver's license: A 28-year-old Highwood man was stopped at 3:35 p.m. in the 600 block of Sunset Ridge Road for driving a vehicle that exceeded the weight limit. The officer also discovered that operator had never been issued a valid driver's license. The man was given a $1,500 bond, a $228 fine for the vehicle and a court date of Aug. 22.

July 26

No driver's license: A 34-year-old Kenosah man was stopped at 9:14 a.m. at West Frontage and Harding roads for driving a vehicle whose weight exceeded the limit. The motorist was cited for having no valid driver's license and operating an unsafe vehicle. He was given a $1,500 bond, a $120 fine for the vehicle and a court date of Sept. 1.
