Northfield Police Assist Wilmette in Missing Person Search

The following reports were provided by the Northfield Police Department. Arrest and charges are accusations and do not indicate guilt. 

Vehicular Burglary

On Dec. 26, someone on the 1500 block of Mt. Pleasant St. reported a tool box with jumper cables and tools was removed from an unlocked vehicle in their driveway, according to police. 

DUI

On Dec. 29, Halina Wiater, 38, of Hoffman Estates, was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Improper Lane Usage and Driving With BAC Over .08, police say. Her blood alcohol content was .167 at the time of the arrest, according to police. 

Child Seat Installation

On Jan. 3, three North Shore residents visited the Northfield Police Department for professional child seat installation, police say. Northfield police have child seat specialists in the department and provide the free service to Northfield residents, or for $15 to people outside of Northfield, according to police.  

Missing Person

On Jan. 3, Northfield police assisted the Wilmette Police Department in the search a boy who ran away from his father's car as the two traveled to a hospital, according to police. The boy returned home on his own later that night, and Wilmette police transported him to an Evanston hospital, police say.

Vandalism

Between Dec. 25 and Jan. 3, someone threw eggs at a house on the 100 block of Dickens Rd., according to police.
