Northfield Blotter: Credit Card Fraud, Hit and Run

From credit card fraud to a hanging street sign, here are the latest reports from Northfield Police Department.

Credit Card Fraud

A resident in the 100 block of Thackeray Lane reported someone using her credit card information to make a purchase of $841 in Schaumburg on Nov. 30. Another purchase worth $1,000 was also attempted at a Best Buy but the credit card company declined it. The resident says she still has possession of her credit card and is unsure how her credit card information was stolen. Police say the credit card company will likely resolve the $841 charged. 

DUI

Jonathon P. Clark, 24, of 648 21st Ave., Kenosha, Wis., was cited Dec. 2 for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol content level over .08 and making an improper U-turn after police observed Clark making a U-turn on Willow road near I-94 around 3:35a.m. He was released on a $3,000 I-bond and issued a Jan. 10, 2013, court date. 

Sean J. Byrne, 39 of 861 Wedgewood Court, Lindenhurst, was cited Nov. 29 for driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage and failure to signal when required following a traffic stop near Tower Road and I-94. Police observed the vehicle crossing and straddling the double lines for an entire block and also weaving in and out of its lane. Byrne was later released on a $1,000 I-Bond and issued a Jan. 10, 2013 court date. 

Hit and Run

A vehicle struck the driver side door of another vehicle while backing out of a parking spot at Dominick’s, 1822 Willow Rd., on Nov. 27. The driver left the scene. 

Traffic Arrests

Jesus Madrigal-Montano, 36, of 2120 89th Apt. 4 Kenosha, Wis., was cited Nov. 29 for driving without a valid drivers license and for driving an unsafe vehicle after police observed bulging tires on the vehicle in the 800 block of W. Frontage Road. The plate and type of vehicle permitted 12500 pounds but the trucked weighed 18,760 pounds. Madrigal-Montano was later released on a $1,500 bond and issued a Dec. 28 court date. 

Kuntae J. Kim, 42, of 3201 W. Balmoral Ave., Chicago, was cited Nov. 29 for disobeying traffic control, driving with a suspended drivers license and driving without valid insurance after police observed Kim making a left turn where prohibited in the 400 block of Central Ave. Kim was later released on a $2,000 I-Bond and issued a Jan. 10, 2013 court date. 

Vandalism

A resident in the 2300 block of Dorina Drive reported reported Dec. 3 that the Dorina street sign was hanging off one hinge. Police observed the sign was hanging on one screw but was not damaged otherwise. Police say the damage could caused by people or due to weather conditions.
