Northfield Blotter: Burglary, Criminal Damage
A summary of events from June 7 to June 14.
The Northfield Police Department provided the following reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. Residential burglary: A resident woke in her home in the 200 block of Avon Avenue around 2 a.m. on June 11 to find her front door ajar and her back door wide open. There were signs of possible forced entry. Her purse, jewelry, coins and some silverware were gone. Concerned that the offender(s) might still be on the premise, she called the police who cleared the house. Here losses were given a general estimate of "thousands of dollars," according to the police report.
Criminal damage to property: A customer at station reported two BB holes in driver's side rear panel of his black Toyota Freelander around 2:20 a.m. on June 11. He said he didn't see the offenders and decided not to pursue an investigation, but he advised police to be on the lookout.
