Burglary and Mailbox Smashing: Northfield Blotter
The following arrest information was supplied by the Northfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
May 9
Burglary from a motor vehicle: Over the May 4th weekend, someone forced entry into a construction company's van, which was parked in the 2200 block of Winnetka Road. They broke a window and pried open a door to steel about $4,485 worth of tools.
No driver's license: stopped a 49-year-old man from Skokie when he disobeyed a no-left-turn sign. They also discovered that he had no valid license. He was released on a $1,500 i-bond and given a court date on June 18.

Criminal damage: A resident in the 100 block of Lagoon Drive heard a loud bang outside his home and went out to investigate. He saw a car drive away at a high rate of speed and discovered that his neighbor's mailbox had been damaged by a blunt object. The damage estimate is $100.
May 12
Criminal damage: A resident on Canterbury Lane reported that four of the residences on the street had similarly damaged mailboxes. The values for each mailbox were approximately $100.
May 13
No driver's license: Police stopped a 44-year-old Waukegan man for running a red light as he turned on to West Frontage Road after coming off I-94. The officer found that the man didn't have a valid license. He was released on a $1,500 i-bond; his court date is June 6.
