Missing Swimmer Rescued in Lake Michigan

The swimmer was successfully rescued by emergency workers on Sunday morning.

A swimmer who was reported missing was rescued by Winnetka emergency workers on Sunday morning, according to ABC 7. The swimmer was rescued near Tower Road Beach after about an hour and 45 minutes in the water. He was reportedly treading water the entire time. He did not require medical attention. 

A representative from the Winnetka Fire Department told ABC 7 that there were wave runners and boats in the water, as well as members of the Coast Guard. The article states that an officer spotted the swimmer from the shore and was able to alert a boater to pick him up. 

The Winnetka Police Department was not able to be reached for comment.
