Man Falls Asleep in Edens Center Lane

The following reports were provided by the Northfield Police Department. Arrests and charges are accusations, and do not indicate guilt.

DUI
On Oct. 6, officers responded to a report of a disabled vehicle in northbound, Edens traffic, according to police. Officers found a car parked in the highway's center lane, with hazard lights on and the windows fogged up, police say. The vehicle's driver was asleep with his head resting on his shoulder, according to the report. Officers charged Chang Y. Chung, 24, of Vernon Hills with DUI and improper parking in a roadway, according to police. 

Alcohol Consumption by a Minor
On Oct. 4, an officers stationed at New Trier during a football game smelled alcohol on the breath of juveniles as they walked past him, according to police. The five males were 17, two from Kenilworth and three from Wilmette, police say. The juveniles confessed to drinking beer, police say. 

Theft
On Oct. 6, a Northbrook resident reported her ID and bank card were stolen while she was at the Sunset Ridge Country Club, according to police. The victim was playing paddle tennis and left her belongings in a purse in the paddle tennis hut, according to the report. While playing, she noticed two men in light blue windbreakers in the hut, but thought they were country club employees, police say. When she returned to the hut, her purse was open and belongings were missing, according to police.
