Lost Glencoe Teen Found Under the Influence

A Glencoe resident called Northfield police because he stepped out of a party and got lost.

The following reports were provided by the Northfield Police Department. Arrests and charges are accusations and do not indicuate guilt.

Burglary From Motor Vehicle

On March 24, a Northfield resident reported a vehicular burglary while she was parked at a Shell gas station, according to police. The victim had gone inside the station with her wallet, meanwhile, someone broke her car window and removed a purse worth about $125.00, police say. The victim did not see the burglary occur, according to police.

Consumption of Alcohol By Minor

On March 24, a 17-year-old Glencoe resident called police around 6:30 a.m. because he was lost near Winnetka Avenue and Meadowview Drive, according to police. The teen had been a nearby party but stepped out and got lost, police say. Responding officers noticed alcohol on his breath and a field sobriety test confirmed he had been drinking, according to police. The minor was brought to the station, received a citation and released to a parent, police say.

Speeding

On March 19, police arrested Efrain T. Depaz, 33, of Chicago after a roadside traffic enforcement officer observed Depaz driving at 52 mi/h on Frontage Road, which has a 35 mi/h speed limit, according to police. Depaz was then arrested and charged with driving without a license, though he did have insurance, police say. According to police reports, he was released on bond.
