According to photographer Peter Wolf, the fire started at around 6:45 p.m., in a third story home theater room. The only person in the house was the housekeeper, according to Pioneer Press, which also reports that the homeowners arrived home to find flames coming through the roof.

Fire crews from Highland Park, Highwood, Deerfield-Bannockburn, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, Libertyville, Knollwood, Lake Bluff, Northbrook and Wilmette were all on scene. The fire was finally put out just before 9 p.m.
