Jewelry Worth 'Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars' Taken During Northfield Burglary

Northfield police warn residents of ruse burglaries, such as one that led to a Northfield burglary on Dec. 30, the 'Winnetka Talk' reports.

Northfield police are warning residents of ruse burglaries after a Dec. 30 incident that led to stolen jewelry and coins worth "hundreds of thousands of dollars" during a bogus maintenance inspection, the Winnetka Talk reports.

Police are still investigating the burglary on the corner of Meadowview Dr. and Winfield Rd. where a man, posing as a worker who needed to "check the water" distracted, distracted homeowners while a possible accomplice ran out of the home with the stolen goods, the Winnetka Talk reports.

Burglary has increased exponentially in Winnetka. The lack if prosecution and the write down of the charges probably explains why. Who has decided it ok to rob the rich?
