Glencoe to Begin Negotiations With New Public Safety Union

The Village of Glencoe will begin negotiations with the Fraternal Order of the Police on Friday.

The Village of Glencoe will begin negotiations with the Fraternal Order of the Police (FOP) beginning Friday, according to an article by Glencoe News. A majority of the 33 members of the Glencoe officers recently signed cards to join the FOP, Glencoe's newest union, Chief of Public Safety Mike Volling confirmed in the article.

Volling told the Glencoe News that the starting pay for public safety officers in Glencoe is $58,828 per year, and goes up after six, 12 and 18 months, topping at $92,430 after the officer has been there for five years. This puts Glencoe at the top of the surrounding departments, the article stated. Glencoe Public Safety officers are all also trained as emergency medical technicians, and most are also trained as firefighters.
