Glencoe Police Blotter: Felony Theft, Fleeing and Eluding

The following arrest information was provided by the Glencoe Public Safety Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Suspended Plates, Operating Uninsured Vehicle, Driving Without a Valid License

Luis Toral-Otero, 24, of Highland Park is being charged with driving with suspended plates, driving without a valid license and operating an uninsured vehicle, according to Glencoe Public Safety reports. The report states that Toral-Otero, who was charged on Jan. 31, was released on bond. His court date is set for March 14 in Skokie.

Christopher Mantes, 27, of Winthrop Harbor is being charged with felony theft, criminal damage to property, fleeing and elluding, suspended registration, suspended license, disobeying a red light and speeding 40 miles over the speed limit, according to Glencoe Public Safety reports. 

The incident occurred on Jan. 31, when he was pulled over for unrelated charges in Winthrop Harbor, the report states. Officers there found that he was wanted for an offense that occurred in Glencoe on Nov. 16 in which Mantes, along with another suspect, was reportedly stealing leaf blowers from Rocco Fiore Landscaping and was subsequently involved in a police chase, the report states.
