Glencoe Police Blotter: Falling Squirrel, Missing Jewelry Worth Nearly $20,000

March 16
Jewelry Theft: A Glencoe resident reported a theft that occurred between Dec. 1, 2010 and March 16, 2012. She reported that jewelry was missing from her master bedroom in the 1100 block of Crescent Drive. The value of jewelry is estimated at $19,550. Police are investigating the case.

March 17
Stolen Bicycle: An 18-year-old Glencoe resident reported that someone took his blue, tandem bicycle from the bike rack in front of the Watts Ice Arena, 303 Randolph St., without his permission between March 17 11:30 p.m. and 1 a.m. on March 18. It had been left unattended and unlocked, according to the resident. The bike’s value is estimated at $100.

Falling Squirrel: A Glencoe resident reported that a squirrel fell from the kitchen ceiling of her home in the 700 block of Sheridan Road about noontime. Police helped her set a trap.
March 20
Credit Card Theft: A Glencoe resident used his credit card on March 14 to pay for his meal at Guanajuato, 73 Green Bay Road. The credit card was then used to buy $245 worth of purchases at McDonald’s, Shell gas station and Target. The resident was notified by American Express of the credit card charges. Following an investigation, police charged an 18-year-old female waitress with receiving a lost or mislaid credit card on March 20. She was released on an i-Bond.
