Glencoe Police Blotter: Cannabis, DUI, Theft, Soliciting and Wrongway Driver

The following arrest information was supplied by the Glencoe Public Safety Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Dec. 9

Cannabis - Three juvenile males from were charged with possession of cannabis at 8:17 p.m. at the corner of Tower Road and Forestway Drive. Police stopped the car for improper lane passing and upon approaching the car, detected the smell of cannabis and saw a marijuana cigarette, known as joint, on the backseat.

Two males, ages 16 and 17, were charged with possession of cannabis. One had an illegal ID from California. The 16-year-old driver of the car was charged with possession of cannbis, as well as improper passing. They are submitted to the New Trier Township Peer Jury Program.

Theft - A victim reported her suede, full-length coat missing from a closet in her South Avenue house sometime between Nov. 28 and Dec. 11. The coat is valued at $2,800 dollars. Police are investigating.

Dec. 12

DUI - A 46-year-old woman from Skokie was charged with driving under the influence at 1:45 a.m. on the 900 block of Sheridan Road. She was also charged with improper lane usage and speeding over posted limit. Her court date is Dec. 28. She posted a $1,000 D bond.

Dec. 13

Soliciting without permit - A 46-year-old man from Chicago was charged with soliticing without permit at 2:28 p.m. on the 400 block of Jefferson Avenue, after he had ben going door-to-door soliciting for Ultimate Unity, a for-profit company, without village permit. His court date is Jan. 5, 2012. He was released on a $50 I bond.

Dec. 15

Wrongway driver - Police stopped a wrongway driver on Edens Expressway at 2:43 a.m. The 24-year-old had been going northbound on the southbound lanes for 11 miles. Police stopped him at the intersection of Tower Road and Edens. Glencoe police turned him over to state police.
