Glencoe Police Blotter: Breitling Watch Stolen from Loaner Car

A summary of crimes reported in Glencoe from Aug. 14 to 17.

The following items are taken from the Glencoe Public Safety Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Please email the editor with any questions or to provide proof of expungement.

Theft — A Lincolnwood man reported he left a gold and silver Breitling watch valued at $5,000 in a cupholder of a loaner car, but he was later unable to find the watch when he returned to the loaner car at 6:41 p.m. at the Fields Infiniti on the 2100 block of Frontage Road.

Lost Cash — A woman reported she dropped $110 on the sidewalk near Meg's Cafe on the 300 block of Park Avenue. She said she thought she may have lost the money when she was yanking her keys out of her pocket.

Aug. 16

Disturbance — Two men were sitting at the bus stop on the corner of Harbor Street and Green Bay Road at 12:09 a.m., drawing attention of police. They were sent on their way and asked to pipe down. The same men were found sitting on a park bench at 1:25 a.m. on the corner of Jackson Avenue and Green Bay Road. They were given a final warning to be quiet and told to head home.

 

Aug. 15

Theft — A bicycle was reported stolen from the Glencoe Train Station on the 700 block of Old Green Bay Road at 5:47 p.m. The bike was left unlocked at 1 p.m., and it was gone when the owner returned at 3:30 p.m. The bike was a woman's red metallic mountain bike with a wide seat cover valued at $250.

Suspicious Man — A man who had been drinking was seen rummaging the garbage bins at the Glencoe Train Station on the 700 block of Old Green Bay Road at 12:22 a.m.

 

Aug. 14

Underage Consumption — Robert P. Lindquist, 19, of Highland Park was arrested and charged with underage consumption of alcohol at 2:34 a.m. on the corner of Brentwood Drive and Sheridan Road. Police said he was seen running across Sheridan Road before running from them through yards and down ravines before being arrested in the first block of Brentwood, after he tripped over a landscaping terrace. Paramedics treated Lindquist for scrapes and puncture wounds before he was transported to Highland Park Hospital. His court date is set for Sept. 14 at the Cook County Courthouse in Skokie.
