Glencoe Police Alert Residents About Increase In Burglaries

Alert includes safety tips for residents.

Glencoe Public Safety notified residents Thursday about a recent increase in the number of reported car and home burglaries.

"All incidents are currently being investigated," the alert reads. To see the notification, click here.

The alert included tips for residents to prevent burglaries. In addition to reporting suspicious incidents or persons to Glencoe Public Safety, the department encourages residents to:

  • Store valuables out of sight or secure in a safe deposit box
  • Lock doors and windows
  • Turn on your alarm system
  • Record serial numbers of any electronics
  • Try to park your vehicle in a well-lit area.
