Glencoe Blotter: Valentine's Day Burglar Hits Four Cars
A summary of crimes reported in Glencoe from Feb. 10 to Feb. 16.
The following items are taken from the Glencoe Public Safety Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Feb. 16
Burglary — An unlocked gray 2000 Lincoln SUV was burglarized between 5 p.m. on Feb. 14 and noon on Feb. 16 in the 100 block of Linden Avenue. A $300 Sony Navoo GPS system, an Apple iPhone car transmitter, a piece of Tupperware and a $1 pair of tortoiseshell sunglasses were stolen.

Found Article — A black LG cell phone was found buried in the snow on the 800 block of Greenwood Avenue.

Burglary —
An unlocked 2010 Honda Odyssey was found with its driver's side sliding door open in the 100 block of Linden Avenue. The van had been burglarized sometime between 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 14 and 7:45 a.m. on Feb. 15 and a child's Thomas the Tank Engine Puzzle birthday gift was stolen.
An unlocked 2010 black Dodge Caravan was burglarized between 9 p.m. on Feb. 14 and 7:30 a.m. on Feb. 15 in the 200 block of Franklin Road. A GPS, drill, sunglasses, and assorted compact tools were stolen.
An unlocked 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan SUV was burglarized in the 1000 block of Skokie Ridge Drive between 2 a.m. and 10:20 a.m. The glove box and the center console were found open and a $200 GPS, $10 roll of quarters, $400 pair of sunglasses and a set of car keys were stolen.
Criminal Damage to Property — The driver's side window of a 2004 Toyota Siena was broken out in a driveway in the 100 block of Maple Hill Road between 9 p.m. on Feb. 14 and 9 a.m. on Feb. 15.
Feb. 13
Theft of Services — A black Volvo drove off from the Shell station at 5:26 p.m. in the 600 block of Vernon Avenue without paying for $52 worth of gasoline. The gas station attendant said there were two male teens in the car. They were about 5 feet 11 inches tall with olive skin and close-cropped hair.
Feb. 12
Found Article — A set of car keys were found at 12:32 p.m. in the 1200 block of Longmeadow Lane.
Feb. 11
Lost Article — A lime and black cross-country ski boot was reported missing at 1:10 p.m. at the corner of Green Bay Road and Jackson Avenue. The item had last been seen atop its owner's vehicle at 7 a.m.
Juvenile Nuisance — Kids were running out in traffic with toy weapons at 4:12 p.m. at the corner of Hawthorn Avenue and Vernon Avenue. A police officer advised the kids to stay out of traffic.
Feb. 10
Damage to Village Property — The wood sign for the Skokie Ridge subdivision was found broken at 4:52 p.m. on the corner of Green Bay Road and Skokie Ridge Drive.
