Glencoe Blotter: Fleeing the Gas Pump, Plus Identity Theft and Traffic Felony

Jan. 8

Traffic Felony: A 42-year-old man from Tinley Park was charged with a felony for driving on a revoked driver’s license. Police stopped him for alleged failure to use his turn signal on the corner of Dundee Road and Skokie Ridge Drive.

Theft: Someone drove away from the Shell gas station at 635 Vernon Ave. without paying for $51.70 worth of gasoline at 11:52 a.m.

Financial Identity Theft: A victim reported at 9 a.m. that his social security number was used for another person’s 2010 tax return. He discovered the theft when he tried to e-file his taxes and the IRS rejected his number as already being used for another person’s return. The case has been referred to the IRS.
