Glencoe Blotter: Easter Bunny Swiped from Lawn; Graffiti Artist Says 'Hi' in Pink
A summary of crimes reported in Glencoe between April 28 and May 4.
The following items are taken from the Glencoe Public Safety Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. May 4
Account Fraud — Charges of more than $300 were made on a Des Plaines couple's U.S. Bank debit card at the Chase bank in the 0-100 block of Green Bay Road. The incidents were reported at 11:26 a.m. Police said information from the automated teller machine (ATM) card was used to withdrawal $1,000 in two transactions at Chase.

Bike Theft — A bicycle was reported stolen from the Glencoe train station at 8:26 p.m. in the 700 block of Green Bay Road.

May 3
Theft — An Easter Bunny lawn ornament was reported stolen at 5:09 p.m. in the 100 block of Lakewood Drive. The owner claimed to have caught two suspects on videotape stealing the $25 decoration at 3 a.m. May 1.
Property Damage — A woman reported at 10:14 a.m. property damage at the corner of Old Green Bay Road and Park Avenue. A parked 2010 Infiniti G37X was hit in the commuter lot by a back loader helping to pave the lots.
May 2
Graffiti — A driveway and a tree were reported tagged with pink graffiti at 6:17 a.m. in the 700 block of Brookvale Terrace. The artist wrote “Hi” on a large maple tree and “IW” on the driveway. The graffiti was sprayed between 7:30 p.m. May 1 and 6 a.m. on May 2.
May 1
Fare Dispute — A cabbie dumped a passenger at Hillcrest and Sheridan roads at 11:18 p.m. after the passenger could only pay $30 of a $50 fare. Police transported the man to the Braeside Metra station.
April 30
Intoxicated Man — A man was so drunk at 4:25 a.m. that he was unable to give a cabbie directions after he was picked up at Aspen Lane and Sheridan Road. Police gave the cabbie directions to the man's address in Chicago.

Suspicious Incident — A homeowner came back from vacationing to find her door handle broken at 12:43 p.m. in the 300 block of Jefferson Avenue. The handle was very old and may have broken from weathering.
April 29
Illegal Bonfire — Teenagers built a small illegal bonfire on the Glencoe Beach at 9:12 p.m. They were ordered to put out the fire and clean up the area.
April 28
Obsene Messages — A Glencoe man told police his 11-year-old daughter was receiving obscene text messages, including a link to a pornography site, on her cell phone. The incident was reported at 9:24 p.m. in the 700 block of Grove Street.
