Glencoe Blotter: Cops Break Up Underage Party; Snake Found

A summary of crimes reported in Glencoe from Aug. 7 to Aug. 11.

The following items are taken from the Glencoe Public Safety Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Please email the editor with any questions or to provide proof of expungement.

Aug. 11

Found Item — A woman found a gold-colored plaster-and-fiberglass head of a horse, buried in the brush bseide the railroad tracks. She took it to her house on the 200 block of Woodlawn Avenue but reported it to police at 12:01 p.m. in case it was stolen. Police decided to leave the item at her residence.

Aug. 10

Arrest Warrant — Megan A. Ruffalo, 39, of Glencoe was arrested on a warrant at 12:41 p.m. at her apartment on the 300 block of Hazel Avenue. The warrant had been issued in 2007 by the Cook County Sheriff for violation of supervision stemming from a DUI charge.

Underage Possession — A party involving at least four people under the age of 21 was broken up at 11:27 p.m. on the 1000 block of Elm Ridge Drive. The minors were from Glencoe, Wilmette and Highland Park. Sean B. Norris, 20, the host of the party, was cited for underage possession. Police were called because of a noise complaint to the house. Seven partygoers were outside with a collection of beer cans and bottles on the table.

Aug. 8

Snake Nuisance — A man reported he found a baby bull python in his apartment at 8:42 a.m. on the 300 block of Park Avenue. The snake was turned over to the Glencoe Animal Hospital for adoption.

Aug. 7

Driving without a License — Marcial M. Castro, 27, of Highwood was arrested and charged with driving without a license at 10:33 a.m. on the 900 block of Green Bay Road. Police said Castro had been speeding his gray 2008 Chevy TrailBlazer through the intersection of Park Avenue on Green Bay Road. He also did not have a front Illinois license plate. His court date is set for Aug. 25.

Bicycle Found — A bicycle was recovered on the 600 block of Vernon Avenue at 11:10 p.m. The bike was stored in the property room at the public safety building.
