Glencoe Blotter: Computers Stolen from Dental Clinic, Lake Forest Teen Caught with Cocaine

A summary of crimes reported in Glencoe from Feb. 23 to March 2.

The following items are taken from the Glencoe Public Safety Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

 

March 2

Burglary Arrest — A 21-year-old Chicago woman was arrested on three counts of burglary at her home on the 1800 block of North California Avenue in Chicago. The burglaries took place between Jan. 28 and Feb. 15. Her court date is set for March 8.

March 1

Juvenile Nuisance — A group of teenage boys were reportedly throwing snowballs at passing cars as they waited for the Pace Bus at 7:41 a.m. at the corner of Green Bay Road and Park Avenue.

 

Feb. 27

Suspicious Party — A cab driver reported a number of underage people getting dropped off at a home on the 400 block of Lincoln Avenue. 

Suspicious Auto — A red Volkswagen Beetle kept circling the area of the 1000 block of Edgebrook Lane at about 3:43 p.m.

 

Feb. 25

Driving with Suspended License — A 28-year-old Winnetka man was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended license at 9:01 a.m. on Feb. 25 at the intersection of Green Bay Road and Lake Cook Road. He was stopped because the windows of his 1998 red Volvo sedan were obstructed by snow and ice. Only a very small portion of the windshield was cleared off. He was also cited for driving with an obstructed windshield. His court date is set for April 1.

 

Feb. 24

Burglary — A burglary was reported at Lake Shore Dental at 8:50 a.m. on the 600 block of Vernon Avenue. The burglar took place between 6:15 o.m. on Feb. 23 and 8:45 a.m. on Feb. 24 after the proprietor left the door unlocked. Several items were stolen, including a Sony laptop computer, a Sony desktop computer, an Acer LCD computer monitor and an external hard drive. The items totaled about $2,000 in value.

Found Item — A Chase Freedom Visa card was found at the Glencoe Beach at 8:46 a.m. at the end of Park Avenue.

 

Feb. 23

Possession of Cocaine — A 19-year-old Lake Forest man was arrested on charges of felony possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with suspended license and possession of three false driver's licenses at 3:16 p.m. at Sheridan Road and Maple Hill Road. He was driving a black 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee when he was stopped for speeding 45 miles per hour in a 30 mph zone. When the officer looked in the car, the officer noticed some marijuana shake in the center console. A run of his license found it suspended. Upon searching the man, police said they found a prescription drug bottle on his person that held powdered cocaine. Police also found a tan marijuana pipe in the car. He had given them a fake Illinois license. Police said they found a second fake Illinois license and a fake Idaho driver's license in the car.
