Glencoe Blotter: Burglary, Driver's License Suspension, $3000 Identity Theft

Dec. 23
Driver’s License Suspended: A 38-year-old from Lombard was charged with operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license at 10:10 p.m. at the corner of Longwood and Hazel avenues. The court date is Jan. 12.

Identity Theft: A Glencoe resident reported that numerous accounts had been opened with the victim’s social security number and date of birth. They were opened in South Carolina, and the 38-year-old victim was being held accountable for money charged on the accounts. The total charges were more than $3,000.

Burglary: A Glencoe resident returned home from vacation to find the home on the 300 block of Adams burglarized. The burglary occurred between 12 p.m. on Dec. 21 and Dec. 27 at 8:30 p.m. A couple of bedrooms and an office had been disturbed, after the burglar(s) opened a window and gained entrance. Police said it may be related to a burglary reported on Dec. 22.

Burglary: A resident reported a burglary on the 400 block of Woodlawn. The homeowner noticed a missing jewelry box on Dec. 20 but did not report it until Dec. 27. The offender removed the window screen and opened a window to gain entry to the home.
