Glencoe Blotter: Alleged Drunk Caught Sleeping in Car

A summary of crimes reported in Glencoe from Aug. 4 to Aug. 6.

The following items are taken from the Glencoe Public Safety Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Please email the editor with any questions or to provide proof of expungement.

Aug. 6

Driving under the Influence — Michael M. Cannon, 29, of Glenview was arrested on charges of driving under the influence at 2:56 a.m. on the 300 block of Park Avenue. The driver was found asleep in his black 2004 Nissan Extera with the keys in the ignition. Police said he was difficult to awaken, and he smelled of alcohol, didn't know where he was and his speech was slurred. Police reported that he failed field sobriety tests. His court date is set for Aug. 25.

Filming without Permit — Police were called on an independent film crew that were standing in the street on the 300 block of Park Avenue at 8:01 a.m. The crew told police that they were done for the day when police advised them that they would need a permit if they wished to return to Glencoe.

Aug. 5

Theft — The inner wheel well cover of a gray 2009 Honda Civic was reported missing on the 900 block of Green Bay Road at 8:44 a.m. The owner noticed the part was gone when his son brought home the car at 11 a.m. on Aug. 1. The part is worth $300. The officer suggested the part may have fallen off while driving, but the owner insisted it was stolen.

Threatening Raccoon — A woman reported that a raccoon was in her garbage can again, and she was too afraid to tip the can over. Police removed the animal at 7:24 a.m. on the 900 block of Sheridan Road.

Aug. 4

Found Purse — A woman's purse fell off her car and it was later found by police at the corner of Forestway Drive and Willow Tree Lane at 12:36 p.m.
