Glencoe Blotter: 3 Houses Burglarized, Man Arrested on 15-Year-Old Warrant

The following arrest information was supplied by the Glencoe Public Safety Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Feb. 23

Burglary: A house burglary was discovered at 1:50 p.m. at the 400 block of South Avenue. Police believe the offender pried open a window to enter the building. The owner is out of town, and missing items remain unknown. Winnetka police reported another burglary earlier that day in Winnetka.

Burglary: A house in the 300 block of Jackson Avenue was burglarized between 5:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. The rear window on the south side of the home was pried open, and the homeowner said that no items had been taken.

Burglary: A house in the 500 block of Woodlawn Avenue was burgalized between 9 a.m. and 8:15 p.m. The rear window on the south side of the home was pried open, and the homeowner reported that jewelry was taken. The estimated loss is about $4,000.

Feb. 25

Obstruction of Court Order: A 34-year-old man from Virginia Beach, Va. was stopped for speeding at the corner of Green Bay Road and Harbor Street at 10:43 p.m. Police discovered that Cook County Sheriff’s Office had a warrant for his arrest from 1997. The charge on the warrant was for obstructing a court order. His court date is set for March 28. The man posted $200 for bail.
