Glencoe Blotter: 3 Autos Burglarized, Swimming After Hours, Animal Complaint

A summary of crimes reported in Glencoe from June 30-July 6.

The Glencoe Public Safety Department provided the following reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Please email the editor with any questions or to provide proof of expungement.

July 6

Theft — A bicycle was reported stolen from the train station at 7:14 p.m. The lock had been cut.

July 5

Driving With a Suspended License — Clara N. Lee, 26, of Glencoe, was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended license. Police said she drove through a stop sign at 12:41 a.m. at Pebblewood Lane and Dundee Road. Her court date is Aug. 11 at the Cook County Courthouse in Skokie.

Burglary — A car was broken into at 4:36 p.m. in the 200 block of Old Green Bay Road at 4:36 p.m. Nothing was reported missing.

Fake ID — A 20-year-old Frankfort man was cited for using a fake identification to buy alcohol at the Walgreens store near the 100 block of Green Bay Road.

Swimming After Hours — Three 12-year-old girls were caught swimming in the lake at 5:19 a.m. at the Glencoe Beach in the first block of Park Avenue. The girls were sent home and advised of the curfew by police.

July 4

Drug Possession — Alexander F. Hagan, 18, of Buffalo Grove, was arrested and charged with drug possession, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at 8:21 p.m. in the first block of Lakewood Drive.

Burglary — A car was broken into overnight in the 100 block of Wentworth Avenue, and the incident was reported at 12:45 p.m. A wallet was taken from the vehicle and children's toys were taken from the front lawn.

A second car break-in was reported at 3:55 p.m. in the 200 block of Old Green Bay Road. Nothing was reported missing.

Property Damage — The Dell Beach sign was found damaged at 7:16 p.m. at Dell Place and Lakeside Terrace.

Suspicious Incident — A couple reported they spotted a pair of males standing in their driveway in the 300 block of Palos Road at 3:31 a.m.  Their car door was open and the men were holding flashlights. When the homeowners yelled at them, the men fled north. The men had on shorts and long-sleeved shirts.

July 3

Driving Without a License — Salvador Ochoa-Nolasco, 43, of Chicago, was arrested on charges of driving without a license at 9:06 p.m. in the 700 block of Dundee Road. He was allegedly stopped for driving with only one headlight and given a citation for that as well. His court date is Aug. 11 at the Cook County Courthouse in Skokie.

Trespassing — Four out-of-state men were cited for trespassing on the Glencoe Beach at 11:11 p.m. in the first block of Park Avenue. A 24-year-old man from Louisville, KY, was cited along with three other men, ages 25, 26 and 27, from Bloomington, IN.

Two people were cited for trespassing near the Glencoe Beach in the first block of Park Avenue at 11:33 p.m. One was a 32-year-old man from Glenview and the other was a 30-year-old woman from Northbrook.

July 2

Underage Consumption — Four 17-year-olds were cited for underage consumption of alcoholic beverages at 4:31 p.m. at Dell Beach at Dell Place and Lakeside Terrace. Three of the teens were from Lincolnwood and one was from Niles.

July 1

Trespassing — Eight Wilmette teenagers were cited for trespassing at Dell Beach at 8:58 p.m. at the corner of Dell Place and Lakeside Terrace. Seven of them were 17-year-olds and one was 16.

Four teenagers were cited for trespassing at Dell Beach at 9:51 p.m. Everyone in this group was 17 years old. Two were from Evanston, one from Skokie and one from Helena, MT.

Theft — A UPS package was reported stolen from the front of a home on the first block of Lakewood Drive at 6:11 p.m.

Accidental Damage — The Glencoe Public Works Department damaged a private fence when a crew cut down a tree that landed on top of the fence in the 100 block of Glenwood Avenue at 3:01 p.m.

Littering — A man accused his neighbor of dumping yard refuse into the storm sewer drain at 8:15 p.m. in the first block of Harbor Street.

Animal Complaint — A woman was told her dog cannot live in her Jeep at 12:18 a.m. in the 300 block of Jefferson Avenue.

*Jan. 30, 2012: Child Endangerment case on July 2 was dismissed by court, those charged were found not guilty, and the case was removed from the site.
