Erratic Driver Hospitalized

The following reports were provided by the Northfield Police Department. Arrests and charges are accusations and do not indicate guilt.

Thefts at Sunset Ridge

On May 29, a woman reported her bag was stolen while she was playing golf at Sunset Ridge Country Club, according to police. The bag contained $3,120.00 worth of jewelry and an iPhone 5, police say. The incident occurred on May 14, according to the report.

On May 31, a woman reported her golf clubs were stolen while she was at Sunset Ridge, according to police. According to the report, the woman's caddy was going to place the clubs in her car while she ate at the club, but the clubs were missing when she returned to the vehicle. The woman said it probably was not the caddy because she has known him for a while, police say. The incident occurred on May 28.

Driving Complaint

On May 29, someone reported a driver traveling erratically along Sunset Ridge Road around 6:30 p.m., according to police. The responding officer found the vehicle and witnessed the car veer off the road before stopping the vehicle, police say. The driver was an elderly man who appeared distressed and disoriented, so he was transported to the hospital and no charges were made, according to police. The incident was reported to the Secretary of State.

Police Detail at New Trier Graduation Party

Northfield officers were on location at New Trier Township High School on June 2 during a graduation party, according to police.

That night, James A. Sharp, 18, of Glencoe, was cited for marijuana possession after a small container with a green, leafy substance was found in his possession, according to police. 

Grace Dynek, 18, of Northfield, was cited for possession of alcohol by a minor when a plastic bottle containing rum was found on her, according to police. 

Leah J. Silberman, 18, of Winnetka, was cited for underage drinking when the odor of alcohol was found on her breath, and she blew a .065 on a portable breathalyzer  according to police.
