Computer FBI Alert A False Alarm

The following arrest information was supplied by the Northfield Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Willow Traffic Violation
On Sept. 9, an officer saw a driver cross the double yellow line in the middle of the road and driving into oncoming traffic, to make a shortcut, according to police. After stopping the vehicle, officers discovered the driver had a suspended license, police say. Hector Hernandez , 21, of Winthrop Harbor was charged driving with a suspended license, according to police. 

Computer Help
On Sept. 8, a man came into the police station with his computer after an FBI warning appeared on his computer, according to police. Officers advised him that it may be a virus, police say. 

Fraud
On Sept. 5, a business on the 820 block of W. Frontage Road reported receiving two checks over the course of July that eventually bounced back for insufficient funds, according to police. 

Vehicular Burglary
On Aug. 31, someone left their car unlocked while parked at Sunset Ridge Country Club, and later found that their wallet and checkbook was missing, according to police. The bank notified the checkbook's owner that three checks were cashed totaling $6,105.00, police say.
