Chief: Winnetka Police Not Involved in New Trier Teacher Investigation

A New Trier teacher has been accused of misconduct and the district says the matter is under investigation.

Winnetka police are not investigating misconduct allegations against a New Trier High School teacher, said Interim Chief Patrick Kreis.

New Trier officials notified parents Monday of an investigation into misconduct allegations against Daniela Rossmann, a German teacher who has worked full-time at the Winnetka campus since 2003.

No charges have been filed against Rossmann, according to Andy Conklin, a spokesman for the Cook County State's Attorney's office.

In a e-mail notice to parents, Superintendent Linda Yonke said school officials found out about the situation last week and "proper authorities were notified as well."

A WBBM radio story Tuesday said the allegations came from another faculty member, but New Trier Communications Director Nicole Dizon said that information is not true

"It is incorrect," Dizon wrote in an email to Winnetka-Glencoe Patch. "We have not and cannot comment on how the District received the allegations."
