Bank Deposit Bag Lifted, Woman Charged with Forgery

The following arrest information was provided by the Winnetka Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Theft

Three winter coats, a pair of earrings, several silver serving spoons and cash were reported stolen from several locations throughout a home in the 600 block of Garland Ave. between on Oct. 31 and Dec. 10 The loss is estimated at $5,700.

An employee at 811 Elm St. discovered at about 9 p.m. on Dec. 12 that an unsecured bank deposit bag was missing, the amount of loss is estimated at $1,100. Police are still investigating the case.

A grey metallic Motorola smart phone was stolen from an unsecured locker at 385 Winnetka Ave. between 6 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. on Dec. 12. The loss is estimated at $150.

Forgery

A 45-year-old Chicago woman was charged Dec. 10 with two counts of forgery, following an investigation of two prior fraud reports at 620 Lincoln Ave. Police say the incidents were reported in late August and early September. She later pleaded guilty in exchange for probation, which she completed satisfactorily.

Driving Under the Influence

A 26-year-old Chicago man was arrested Dec. 10 for driving under the influence of alcohol in the 500 block of Sheridan Road following a traffic stop. He was also charged with driving without valid driver’s license and improper parking on roadway. He was issued a Dec. 26 court date.

A 51-year-old Glencoe woman was arrested Dec. 13 for driving under the influence of alcohol in the 700 block of Forestway Drive. She was also cited for improper lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. She was issued a Jan. 23 court date.

Traffic Arrest

A 15-year-old from New Trier Township area was arrested for driving without having a valid driver’s license on Dec. 14 at 899 Sheridan Rd. He was issued a Jan. 30 court date.
