About Half Of Glencoe Still Without Power

ComEd reports 88,000 customers in the northern region still experiencing power outages.

UPDATE: The Glencoe Public Library is without power and will remain closed until further notice. For updates on hours, call 847-835-5056.

About half of Glencoe households are without power, and it may take ComEd a few days to restore power completely, a spokesperson told Patch.

Emily Ferber, one of Winnetka-Glencoe Patch's freelancers, said power is out on the south side of Park Avenue.

UPDATE, 10:08 a.m.: A ComEd spokesperson told Patch the number of customers without power in the northern region is now 88,000 down from 187,000 earlier this morning.

In the agency's northern region, which was hit the hardest, there were 187,000 customers without power as of 9 a.m. Wednesday, according to ComEd. In total, 267,000 customers are affected.

More than 400 crews are out working to restore power, the agency reports.

Glencoe residents are advised to report outages to ComEd by calling 1-800-EDISON1.

The Village of Glencoe has dispatched public works employees to clear fallen trees and debris from village streets. The village is also asking residents with fallen trees in their yards to call a private service to have it removed, or drag it to the street where it will be picked up by village crews.
