8 Cars Burglarized At Skokie Country Club

The break-ins occurred over the last week. Seven of the eight occurred in one day.

Eight car burglaries occurred in the last week at Skokie Country Club, and it appears briefcases, phones and computers were targeted.

Seven cars were burglarized between 7:50 p.m. and 9:23 p.m. on May 12, the night of the country club's annual meeting. All of the cars had a broken side window. On Wednesday, someone broke the driver's side window on a 2011 Mercedes G1550 SUV between 1 p.m. and 2:50 p.m. An iPhone worth $400 and $140 in cash were taken.

Club members received an email notification from John Cole, club president. The email said the club has requested more frequent patrols from Glencoe Public Safety, and staff members will also walk through the parking lots throughout the day.
