22-Year-Old Winnetka Man's Death Ruled Suicide: Cops

After a preliminary investigation, authorities say the man found dead in his home Wednesday died from self-inflicted knife wounds.

The death of the 22-year-old Winnetka man who was found in his home Wednesday by police is being ruled a suicide after a preliminary investigation, authorities said.

Winnetka police, the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force and the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office determined that the cause of death was the result of self-inflicted knife wounds, a police press release stated. The incident is still under investigation, the release added.

Police responded to a call at about 6:40 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, to a house in the 800 block of Foxdale Avenue, after family remembers reported an unresponsive man. The resident was found dead when police arrived.
