Clean Getaway: $1K Worth of Toothbrushes Stolen

The following reports were provided by the Northfield Police Department.

Counterfeit Prescription
On Nov. 15, someone called in a prescription for 180 pills of Hydrocodone to the Walgreens at 1825 Willow Rd., and another Walgreens tipped them off that it might be a fake prescription, police say. Employees contacted the doctor who confirmed the prescription was fake and he wanted to press charges, according to police.

The person who called in the prescription called the store later that night to confirm that the pills were ready for pick-up, and an employee said the called had to arrive in 10 minutes before the store closed, according to police. Officers were notified, but the caller never arrived, according to the report.

Retail Theft
On Nov. 18, employees from the Walgreens at 1825 Willow Rd. reported about $1000 worth of items were stolen by a couple with the help of a getaway vehicle, according to police. Store security observed the couple enter the Walgreens with empty bags, which they filled up with diapers, electric toothbrushes, whitening strips and shaving razors, according to the police report.

As the couple walked toward the door, store employees said the items they collected were unpaid for, but the couple said they walked into the store with those items, pushed past employees and entered a vehicle waiting near the entrance, police say. The car was seen traveling northbound on Willow, but officers could not find the offenders, police say.
